I am very happy to announce that one of my flounder drawings has been included in issue 32 of Cabinet Magazine, a beautiful, curious, ingeniously put together quarterly on art and culture that I have been a long time fan of. I highly encourage you to learn more about the magazine, their many ambitious projects and new gallery space. Check out the link I provided and definitely check out the latest issue!

New work to see! I have uploaded two new series (sirsiy-iesies) that may or may not be complete. I have some six going on right now… I am working towards a “work-in-progress” album(s) which should be an ever-changing, life altering and thrilling event.
Anyhoo, please stop by the opening of the next group show that two pieces from my Illegible Writing Series will be in (info to the upper right). The show will be up until the heat of summer, so I hope you have the chance to stop in. Check out the info at the upper right or visit Brooklyn Art Council’s webpage for more information.

Okay folks, get out your calendars. I’m in a few group shows that are fast approaching.
First up, Monday, October 27 at 7pm is the annual Nurture Art benefit hosted by James Cohan Gallery. A piece from the Skull Series will be up for sale and all proceeds go to Nurture and their excellent mission. I know it’s tough times, but Nurture is an amazing non-profit space that gives emerging artists AND curators a supportive venue with which to gain knowledge and momentum in the mess otherwise known as the contemporary art world. A real gem. ABSOLUTELY WORTH SUPPORTING, especially these days.
Opening Monday, November 3, 6-8pm is “New Work: Art from the Workers at the New Museum”. Even though I have recently migrated to the good ol’ Met, organizer and New Museum worker, Lynne Pidel has kindly kept me in the show (thanks, Lynne!) I’ll be putting up a piece from the Flounder Series. There will be an online catalog complete with formal essays and all, soon to show up at the link above. I think. Will keep you posted on that particular detail.
(Then November 4, GO VOTE!)
Last but not least, curator Denise Wong has put together a group show called “Present Perfect Continuous” opening Friday, November 7, 7-9pm at Nurture. The Illegible Writing Series will be up along with work of six other emerging artists.
